What are tap-to-view tags?

And Hugo Helps offers an additional service where we insert a paper-thin NFC tag between the photo and the magnet that won't be visible, but which enables anyone to tap their smartphone against the magnet to open a website or any online information on their device.

NFC tags use the same technology as contactless payments on smartphones. It will only work if the phone has NFC tags enabled in the settings menu.

NFC tags could enhance your magnet by:

  • taking guests to venue websites so they can book rooms or tables
  • taking guests to online event details
  • opening ticket sales sites
  • taking you to photos or videos of special occasions
  • opening a shared photo or information site such as Padlet
  • signposting customers to products or websites

When you select the tap-to-view tag option don't forget to add the web-address you want to link to on the 'Order Special Instructions' section on the 'Your cart' page. 

How do I order multiple magnets?

To order multiple copies of the same picture:

  1. select the number of magnets you want on the product page
  2. upload or drag and drop your picture.
  3. Select 'Add to cart'
  4. When you are ready to check out, click the basket logo in the top right of the screen

To order magnets with different pictures:

  1. select the number of magnets with the same picture you want on the product page
  2. upload or drag and drop your picture
  3. select 'Add to cart'
  4. select 'continue shopping' 
  5. Select the next number of magnets with the same picture you want on the product page
  6. select 'Change File' and upload or drag and drop your next picture
  7. select 'Add to cart' 
  8. and repeat until you have added all of your pictures.

How do I know if a photo is suitable?

Quality Matters:

  • Upload the highest quality images you have - don't worry about file size as long as it's under 20 MB
  • Avoid dark or poorly lit photos

File Formats:

  • JPEG works best for photographs and product images
  • PNG is ideal for logos or images with transparent backgrounds
  • Don't compress images beforehand - Shopify automatically optimizes them for fast loading
